Q: You celebrated exciting milestones last year: 15 years of business and moving into a gorgeous new and larger space. Can you share a bit about this journey and the amazing growth you've experienced?
A: I've never believed in "build it and they will come" in business. I think its best to start small and let the business's success pay for its growth when in an industry like retail where the cost of goods are the number one cost of doing business. So our new, larger space and expansion into men's next door to us is seeing unprecedented success due to the steps we had already taken and the programs and platforms we already had in place. We feel the main change due to our expansion is visibility and we are truly convinced now that being front and center on Stetson is our tipping point as well as maintaining the grind it takes to build a small business.

Q: Among those big developments, you mentioned Man Atelier, the newly opened men's retail space next to your women's boutique. Tell us about the decision to branch into menswear? What type of styles are available at the store?
A: I've been asked for over 10 years to carry or launch men's but timing is everything. We needed more space, more manpower, and simply the guts to add to our plate. Lisa Stanley who owned a women's store for 15 years called Ruby has the experience and knowledge to lead this launch and without her, we wouldn't have felt properly equipped. Our at-home "door drop" program is also what made us pull the trigger on MAN as the men of the house were seeing the ease and enjoyment of shopping personally curated looks at home and consistently asked, "what about me?" We learned quickly the men want to feel the same confidence and clarity the women feel when all set for a trip, special event, or just a new season in fashion. Our MAN selection is approachable, affordable in the contemporary market, and relatable to the west coast lifestyle the AZ man lives and the visitors crave. You will see lots of fresh color to help a man stand out and feel invigorated as we quickly learned they expect the same feel of uniqueness and personal style the women get when shopping at AMY.
Q: The men's space is awesome and has some complementary, but masculine, design elements to Amy Atelier. Can you share more about these thoughtful touches? What type of a shopping experience can a guy expect to have in the space?
A: Our MAN space has the same clean white floors and shelving allowing the selection of Paige colored jeans, Robert Barakett assorted tees, and tons of great printed button downs from Mizzen + Main and 7Diamonds to be front and center. We use an accent print of a pink and citron leopard in our AMY marketing pieces and created a black and citron signature skull print for our MAN collateral which is also on an accent wall centered at the back of our small, approachable space. No one will go unnoticed in this space as its an intimate almost 500 square feet which we keep hearing is "not intimidating at all for the man who doesn't love to shop!" We enjoy hearing that as freshening one's look shouldn't be painful.

Q: Can you share some of your local favorites (restaurants, recreation spots, stores, services, etc.)?
A: I love Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale's Par 3 golf course, dinner just because at Tarbell's, hiking Pinnacle Peak, cocktails at Jade Bar at Sanctuary.
Q: What would you like our TSG community to know about you/your business?
A: While the brands we carry may seem more sleek or trendy, we have a very diverse clientele with an age span of over 50 years.
Q: What do you love about running a business here in the Valley?
A: We get to offer big-city style in a smaller community atmosphere while attracting visitors from around the country.
