Browse previously published TSG spreads for design inspiration in the TSG Spread Look Book

TSG TIP: Bring spread inspiration images to your creative meeting.

THE Photoshoot

Once we've determined the vision for your spread, we will schedule your photoshoot. It is important to schedule it at a time when you can focus and have fun.

This is a fun reason to treat yourself. Let us know if you’d like some recommendations – we have some folks we love working with!

We want you to feel comfortable and like yourself. If you’re not the glam type, don’t think twice!

TSG TIP: Our guides have an extraordinary shelf life, so it’s best to focus on the big picture.

Photo Approval & creative assets

Select and approve your Spread Image

Submit a High Resolution Logo (AI or .EPS format)

Review the Creative Meeting Form (CMF) in your client file Please review the document carefully as the copy is what the TSG graphic designer will use to design your spread.

Spread Design & PRODUCTION

We will work closely with the TSG design team to produce striking and effective spreads that will entice readers to learn more about your business. Learn more about Spread Design here.

The spread approval process will begin in June. Spreads are typically approved within 2-3 rounds of edits, and the most successful designs have a detailed CMF communicating the vision to the TSG graphic designer.

ON SET DETAILS

Be Prepared

  • The shoot time goes quickly, so please be camera ready! Once the TSG team arrives, we talk through the shoot, set up equipment, and begin shooting photographs and reviewing playbacks.

  • Spread scene set for shoot prior to our arrival. Consider the use of flowers/plants but remember when it comes to props, less is more. Only consider adding elements that align with your messaging.

  • Make sure area is clean and remove clutter. Hide wires and plugs from view, move furniture, background prepared, desks and counters cleared, tags removed, and racks merchandised, props unpacked, vignettes displayed.

Have Fun & Enjoy the Creative Process

  • Embrace “Plan B”. While we start with a plan, remember that some of the best images are ones captured at the end of the shoot.

  • We’ll be shooting tethered. We will ask you to view the photos as we go and select your favorite images onsite. This ensures we have “the shot” before leaving the shoot site.

  • Share your edit requests or preferences during the photoshoot. This helps save time and reduces emails on the final image selection process.

Behind the Scenes

  • Sharing teasers from the photo shoot on IG stories is encouraged, as long as they don't give too much away! We will be sharing BTS images on our social media that you are welcome to repost.

  • Photos from the shoot will be kept under wraps until after the guide is released. We ask that the setting and wardrobe used for your TSG not be revealed prior to the print guide.

IN THE EVENT OF…

Weather:

  • If your shoot is scheduled outdoors, we may occasionally have to reschedule due to poor conditions. We'll make the call 24-36 hours in advance.

Reshoots & Additional Shoot Times/Edits

  • Advertiser-elected reshoots or extensive edits will be billed at an additional fee at the discretion of the photographer.

  • Pending photographer availability, you can extend your shoot for an additional fee to be paid directly to the photographer if you would like head shots. Please make sure the look and feel of any personal images are different than the TSG shoot.
